Before Jan 2020 I had NEVER lost my sense of taste. I had certainly NEVER insisted that my wife put chilli in every meal (normally I hate chilli). So it was, for me, a very unusual "flu" and if this unusual flu is what some call "covid" then I'm fine with that.
What I'm NOT fine with is the suggestion that an unusual flu-like illness doesn't exist.
Aye yeah, but I can definitely tell you I have lost my sense of taste on multiple occasions when being sick as a kid. They gave it the most common symptoms so everyone would go get tested with the pcr tests cranked up.
