I mean, there are people in the world with blow up girlfriends, so something like a plane doesn't surprise me much.

I'm just going to substitute "blow up girlfriends" for planes that are not actually planes and could be just CGI.

Seriously man. Blow up planes? Get with the times! It's not 1992 anymore. It's more likely it's an effing hologram than it is a slippin-slide! "Weeee!"
