The MSM first started mentioning Q shortly after Kate M. (alleged Q follower) single handedly stopped an assassination attempt (at one of his Ohio rallys iirc) against Trump. Of course, the MSM never even reported on the incident. RSBN and a local newspaper were the only media outlets that touched the story to my knowledge.
