I think the point is this isn't some kind of new development as a result of happenings. If it's what they've been doing and what they'll be doing the only difference is the media spotlight. We have a good idea of how/why these spotlights are shined on various topics by now (that's the exaggeration) so it's important to keep things in perspective. Keep praying for them and looking for other ways to help if you're inclined but don't assume the information we're fed isn't framed and timed with purpose.
What I meant is that they pick and choose what they cover and when they cover it. Whatever savagery exists is being highlighted to amplify it and make it seem more than the real level. If the existing savagery is already level 8 of 10, the coverage will paint it to look like 11.
