You should assume 90% of everything is total bullshit and consistently ask yourself the following:

What is this telling me and what is it really saying? What emotion is this looking to create? Who would benefit from my belief in this story and my feeling this particular way?

Often answering these is a good start to gauging whether something is bullshit for the sake of clicks, propaganda, comms, etc. There's tons of AFG stories that are clearly propaganda and designed to trigger certain emotions from a certain population. Keep it in mind when navigating the "news".
