Get a CHARCOAL MINI GRILL. Do NOT RELY on processed gas/liquid fuels! If the SHTF, then you'll still be able to use sticks and leaves to cook your food once you run out of charcoal. A pot with no joints, one continuous piece, to boil water with. Joints wear down and crack with frequent heating/cooling. You'll die of thirst long before you die of hunger, and you'll die of diarrhea even faster if you drink tainted water because you'll dehydrate, and then drink more tainted water, making yourself sicker. A good survival knife is also a MUST. It can be used as nearly any small cutting tool. You can trim the bark off a stick to sharpen the blade also, look up tutorials on field sharpening without tools.
A good thing to note is almost ALL freshwater fish are edible, so getting some basic fishing gear and then digging up worms (meaning a garden trowel at minimum, small and portable!) means you have ready access to food so long as you have access to a lake/river! Just be careful during certain seasons with salmon runs...
