So, I went through this recently, my dad passed away from a crazy aggressive cancer. He was also diagnosed with pneumonia (not really a surprise given his immune system)... But, then he was diagnosed with Covid, died the next day. My mom couldn't be with him when it happened, we had to take their word for it that he went peacefully, it was a shit show. We talked later and I go, "you know he didn't have covid right?" and she agreed, but then she said, but they're going to pay for his funeral so it helps a little... I'm not trying to argue with a grieving widow/mom so I just left it at that, but that's been etched in the back of my mind for the past few months.
