Efficacy of Nicotine in Preventing COVID-19 Infection (NICOVID-PREV)
Daily active smokers are infrequent among outpatients or hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Several arguments suggest that nicotine is responsible for this protective effect via the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR).
Nicotine may inhibit the penetration and spread of the virus and have a prophylactic effect in COVID-19 infection.
You don't have to smoke it, just can use a lozenge.
This could be true. Both me and my husband have nicotine addictions. He smokes (outside only) and I switched to vaping 7 years ago. I know, I know, it’s terrible for our health. We have never had COVID, however we also take many supplements, we exercise, eat healthy and pray.
Do you know for fact that vaping is bad for health? If it is then I'm thinking it would have to be because of the stuff that's inhaled besides the nicotine.
I talked to a Swedish scientist in a hotel once while away on business. This was before vaping started.
He told me that the only reason cigarettes were bad is because all of the additives/chemicals that tobacco companies add to cigs, that smoking tobacco without them is harmless.
He was not in any business related to cigarette that would have give him reason to lie, and he really know the scientist behind it, so I believed him, so this is why I wonder why you think vaping may have harmful affects. And because I'm am new to vaping, and really any inhaled intake of nicotine so I am curious.
