I'm pretty pissed off about this. The kid is 9 years old and hasn't worn a mask in almost 4 months plus and now a few days before school starts and they pull this crap.
I've begun trying to reach out to other parents, but I am not sure about resources. I've heard a few success stories, but are there any resources people can share, I want to fight this modern day form of child abuse.
My son as well. He is in college. I just ordered some masks from fakemaskusa for him.
I know I said pissed in my post but that sentiment is an understatement. My son had to go from 7-9 through this crap. You're talking a quarter/third of his life as this continues to extend.
Other than banding together with other parents/showing studies about the ineffectiveness of masks. I would love more resources that might be under the radar as successful methods against this.
Sorry to hear. We started hammering our principals, superintendent, state superintendent, Governor and senators with emails and went to the school board meetings, organize with other parents, and speak up. You have to get out and in their faces, articulate well, use facts, and demand your they do the right thing or else pull your kid. We pulled our kid a week before our Governor lifted the mandate. We have been homeschooling since. We are still fighting bc they are still entertaining the narrative so they can get the ESSR funds from the govt. In order for them to get money they will do whatever the government wants. Your kids are not safe in public school. Not only from covid BS but also from CRT/SEL/equity and inclusion all mean the same stuff and I guarantee your school is teaching them something along those lines, same as common core math. These federally funded programs are all introduced to dumb down our youth and make docile, happy slaves for the workforce if and when they graduate. Keep your kids as close as you can in this time, there may be many reasons you can't homeschool but if your child is important you will find a way.
Thanks for the well thought out reply. The above part about being active is something I am getting into as a start.
I am a bit upset because this is a private school, it's not funded by the government to my knowledge, but where the funding comes from is something I'd have to research. They probably still teach a similar style to public at the end of the day.
I am seriously considering homeschooling if this doesn't get fixed asap. Same reason I'm trying to push with my wife the thought of a midwife/home birth as we are expecting a second child early next year. The hospitals don't give a shit about our health and the schools don't care about our children.
Continue to seriously consider homeschooling. You have NO idea what is happening during the school day & they are pros at telling kids not to tell their parents. My kids are seniors in an online public school after I homeschooled them through elementary school. It's not ideal, but at our school I can attend their classes and all classes are recorded. ANY communication via email or text is copied to me as well. This was my only option as a single parent, but gives me some control & transparency so I can hopefully see it coming & intervene.
