When a flare happens it sends a radiation/energy pulse that hits earth within seconds,
I don't think so. It takes light 8.31 minutes to reach earth from the sun. No way is radiation going to reach earth any faster than the speed of light!
er uh, Solar flare and seconds later check radiation maps.. will see what area it affected 8.31 mins then it is :).. Any solar wind/storm from plasma stuff wont happen for 48+ hours after though.
