Graphene Oxide?
I wouldn't think so? Graphene is carbon but conductive if I remember correctly, so probably metallic but not a metal. (Although they're still trying to determine what it is, so the classification of it in the article isn't supposed to be precise.) But it's been so long since my material science class, and definitions/classifications/terminology might have changed.
But graphene oxide is supposedly magnetic. So even if not a metal could have been confused with metal.
