If I were a horse, I'd start with just a tiny dab the 1st day, to check out how it's tolerated by mouth (say 1/3 the amount of the regular dose for their weight).
Followed by ample water for them, and maybe they can even swersh the gel around in their mouth a bit (to disperse & enjoy its apple flavor, of course, if they have that kind).
And then perhaps do the same the 2nd day. Just easing them into it, and avoiding anything like an initial Herxheimer's effect (from organism die-off, e.g.) - unless a quick/immediate response is desired.
On the 3rd day, they could then enjoy the regular full dose for their weight.
Also I read that horses can sometimes take it w/ something oily, to circulate more throughout their body (or without, to focus more on their GI tract).
Horses I know had ZERO problems, and even seemed perkier.
How much you take depends on your weight, here is a link with charts to help you. https://www.quora.com/profile/Gustavo-A-Aguirre-Chang
