You are correct. The bed capacity has been reduced in many hospitals due to the staffing shortages. A fact that is never relayed to the public as the cause of the "overcapacity." In actuality, the overall number of patients has not changed. In some cases current occupancy is not even at preplandemic numbers.

YES! I try to get people to understand this constantly. When they are nearly full/full, they make the most money! Empty beds make no money.
