We are retarded and can't understand there are numerous parties to this fight. The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more and no less.

The narrative here is:

world: somebody does something good.

GAW: must be white hat.

reality: not white hat, just another party working towards own self-interest.

world: identifies group under attack by cabal.

GAW: must be white hat.

reality: Islamic extremists seeking to secure their own region against forces they've been at war with for two decades.

There are many sides. Even among the cabal there are competing interests.
