Very interesting. I don’t look to the prophetic books in the Bible as a strict literal interpretation of today’s events but this seems to fit perfectly. After reading the entire chapter the thought came to me that perhaps the USA is Babylon the great. We as a nation (CIA, Hillary’s State Department, FBI, etc) have been exporting nothing but wars, destruction, regime change, exploitation, etc for decades. We have not been that shining beacon on a hill pointing to way to Jesus Christ.
Thanks for the reminder. The fact that this virus and shot and tests are global brings me to believe we are well into the end times.
We need to hold out for 3 1/2 years close enough to coincide with this administrations term of office.
Greek for sorcery
This is not in any English translation. This is a mix of the English and Greek verbiage.
That's closer, but it seems there's a lot of disagreement between English translators.
My point was moreso that the image depicts a translation that doesn't exist. I think God does not take kindly to being misquoted.
This gives a good explanation using original Greek text and definition.

Funny, I use KJV and got this: Rev 18:23 KJV And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Don't see this passage anywhere in my bible.
That’s because the passage above is translating the English word “sorcery” into the Greek word “Pharmakia”. This “quote” won’t be in any Bible translation. The post should have been broken out better explaining how “sorcery” translates from Greek to English. Greek is the language the New Testament was originally written in.
I dont think I'm communicating clearly, nothing remotely related to this is in ESV or NIV revelations 18:23. I have a bible app my church uses which contains all versions of the Bible. I cannot find this anywhere. This is 18:23 in my bible: "and the light of a lamp will shine on you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery." Without context, and im no bible expert, i don't see how this can be a translation. Its not even in my study notes version. Also, the whole section is about the fall of babylon. This might be a good one to discuss with a pastor.
If you have Strong Concordance then it does day pharmakia.
Look up the King James translation and substitute “sorceries” for the word “Pharmakia” in the above text.
This word in greek usually is translates as magic or sorcery. Its all about context. Which makes more sense to me because the bible talks about the deception of the anti-Christ on the masses. A lot of people have theorized about future tech allowing for a fake second coming event so that many are deceived into believing Jesus has returned or that aliens have arived.
In Rev 17:17, he flat out mentions the plan! Check that out too.
