Probably the lighting or something like that. My eye color change in different settings too. They can some times appear greenish, or hazel....or even a gray.

I have brown eyes, I have never watched them turn blue, kinda weird.

Agreed. My eyes have never been anything but green, regardless of lighting.

Sounds like you have hazel eyes, as they will shift to those colors. The one thing they never shift to is blue, and Biden used to have very blue eyes.
