It was a small scale practice run for what we're seeing large scale today. Jim Jones was a minor celebrity before he left the main land. Politicians and actors lined up to meet with him, speak to him and have their pic taken.

Liberation Theology is communism with a thin veneer of christianity. Black Liberation Theology is the same thing but tailored for black populations. Jeremiah Wright (Obama's pastor) is a BLT preacher.
