Question from an Ignorant American to Aussie/NZ Pedes. Why is it so bad down there compared to everywhere else?
🗣️ DISCUSSION 💬
Seriously, I'm rather ignorant of the oceanic Anglosphere countries. Never had much interest in them besides possibly visiting in the future for vacation or a hunting trip. (Love my semi auto cordless hole punchers too much.) So why is it so bad down there, but not say the UK? Or Canada? I mean, all four countries have very similar politics and culture from my understanding, well Canada is a bit more gun friendly until recently as far as I know, but that's about it.
So why have Australia and New Zealand seemingly gone full Nazi, while all the other Anglosphere countries are pretty mild all things considered?
Perhaps what you're missing is their proximity to China? I understand the CCP has been working especially hard to bribe/corrupt politicians in those countries. The CCP is here, too, but the U.S. is more spread out, and has greater numbers.
For example, I remember a few years ago China was sending their Olympic swimmers to Australia to train, because they had bribed Aussie doctors to administer performance-enhancing drugs. China believed that the distance involved would help keep the focus of the fraud away from them.
They took away all the people's guns.
That's one of the few things I know that's a misconception. If I'm not mistaken, in terms of largest number of guns, the Anglosphere countries are ranked as such. USA (obviously), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa (Didn't include them in the original list since they have A LOT of problems unique to their country that doesn't apply to the other anglosphere countries), and the finally the UK.
As I mentioned above I had a mild interest in going to New Zealand or Australia for a hunting trip before all of this crap happened. So I've researched the gun laws pretty thoroughly in order to avoid any hang ups, misunderstandings, or otherwise political horse crap when navigating as an armed foreigner.
Believe it or not, Australia has a lot of guns. Mostly bolts, pumps, and lever actions, but a lot of guns none the less. They just gave up autoloaders. They can actually own pistols as well, unlike the UK.
New Zealand was even better until a few years ago when they had that false flag shooting. They could own literally anything without limit. Very similar to the USA. But then they had that false flag so the government banned semi autos. The key difference between between the two nations is that New Zealand didn't require firearms to be registered, so when they banned semi autos, literally no one turned their guns in. So there are still hundreds of thousands of armed New Zealanders with AR 15s, AKs, etc. EXACTLY like what we have here in the US.
Hence, my question, as to why it's so bad down there as compared to the UK, where they have truly cucked gun laws where you're basically only allowed to own break actions and bolt/lever actions that "don't shoot too fast" according to politicians.
well for one thing,.were " Islands".ok..if you lock down borders theres no way in or out,.you cant climb over the fence into another country, unless youre a really good swimmer,.! ..every thing is made to look bad by the media, but its no different to anywhere else, weve just coming out of a level 4 lockdown after about 3 weeks, but before then we had no restrictions for 8 months...same as other places no worse than the US,.
Unfortunately our dear leaders believe that their job is to keep us safe, so they have taken away our freedom to ensure our safety.
Our unelected health officials have drunk deeply from the fountain of the left. They are full blown Marxists. The CCP has been in bed with a lot of our leftist leaders. Dan Andrews, the Premier of Victoria, signed Victoria up the CCP's own Belt and Road Initiative without informing the Federal Govt. Our other leftist state Premiers are competing with him to be the darlings of the CCP.
Thankfully this leftist mentality is predominantly in the cities and the country towns are still mostly normal.
As a Australian Army veteran it breaks my heart to see this happening.
