they have an interest in acting afraid or caring about something so all of their sheep will mimic their behavior. " virtue signalling " when the stars and politicians do it, they are signalling to their worshipers how to behave, and when their worshipers do it they are signalling to everyone else how much they love the stars... how much more so than they love the Lord.
