I’m looking for a new cell phone carrier, I live in NH where ALL services suck so I use Verizon (best service but they support defunding the police), AT&T has decent service but is also heavily vested in the cabal. I know there’s a bunch of small companies out there but generally most of them suck. Any hope on that front? Or are we forced to deal with the devil on this one?

Just find the cheapest MVNO and just use that. Most of them are cheaper if you buy a full year's worth of service in advance (you can get unlimited everything for a very low price, less than $15 per month)
They all offer no contact monthly plans too if you wanted to give them a try and see before committing to a year.
I use redpocket and it has worked in every part of the country I've been in, but whatever else you find is going to be just as fine. The only thing that happens is you're at the bottom of the priority list if you're in a congested tower and usually you will not be finding a reasonable MVNO that uses Verizon towers (I don't think that'll make a huge difference these days, you'd have to scout it out)
I think the nature of the business is that it's all going to paying the devil in the end so figure out the way to pay the least... with redpocket I'm paying less than $20 per month between myself and my wife, WAY cheaper than what many others pay for similar service. We paid <$100 for decent umidigi phones that cover the radio frequencies we'd want to have, but you can probably use what you have already or just find similar cheap decent phones to use.
