I'll admit I'm on some of their sites too. Pretty sure I saw some pedes with some funny comments on democraticunderground today and enjoyed riffing with them to elevated levels of stupidity.

I think it's important to know where the pressure points are. What issues they are concerned about, happy about, what they have right/wrong, etc. It helps me engage them more effectively in person.

If you have someone that is not just shilling but genuinely trying to change your mind you may be able to counter attack.
