My county is one encompassed by Tri-County Health in CO. My kids no longer attend our rural public school because I saw weird shit happening years ago and pulled them out. I'm SO proud of these kids for standing up and I'm praying the kids in my county do the same soon. The corruption is everywhere, but if we can keep our kids on track, the future is bright and full of hope!
You're absolutely correct! Here's why I pulled my kids:
3rd grade, my daughter starts to fall apart every day when I get home from work, nonstop stomachache, headaches, crying all the time that she doesn't want to go.
Knowing she is sensitive I go to the school and tell them something is wrong and I'm trying to figure out what is happening. Teacher was a major bully and was dumping kids' desks over and other aggressive shit.
So one day I go to the school and ask to stand in the hall at the end of the day, to see if maybe the chaos at the end of the day is affecting her. They refused to let me stand in the hallway without notifying the teacher, told me "that feels sneaky" & I was not surprised that end of day teacher was reading a book to the kids.
My kid said that is NOT what typically happens but the teacher insisted it is.
I pulled her our the next day, if I can't observe my child in the hallway let alone the classroom, she will NOT go back.
The school has issues all the way to the top but my kids are no longer exposed to that. I bought books, I planned lessons, I taught my kids and worked a full time job as a single parent with no child support coming in. And my taxes still pay for that!
Guess who is going to run for the school board next round of elections? My kids graduate this year and not from that school. I'm sure the administration will be THRILLED to see my face again!
Thank you! It was a difficult decision 9 years ago, I was shunned by the community and a lot of my family. Now I'm being flooded with people asking how to homeschooling as people are waking up to the issues. I am thrilled to guide them all, and though I'd like to remind them of their treatment of me back then, I don't. I welcome them with open arms because I'm thrilled to see those eyes opening!
Tell that to single male business owner. I've wondered long why I get taxed more than others and get no tax deductions or child credits.
Totally backwards.
I need to dig on this, but this article mentions that Douglas County threatened to leave Tri-County's umbrella, however I do not believe that has occurred yet. I'll be honest, I tuned the nazis out in 2020 once I realized they were pushing the narrative. I DO need to get back on top of this and get involved, so thank you for the reminder, time to educate myself and join these kids in pushing back. Silent no more!
Reading my mind here, I know of 15 families that have left Colorado since last year. I would love to go but it just isn't feasible right now. I love Colorado and there is a part of me that doesn't want to leave but instead stay and fight for a return to what made living here amazing. They have taken the livelihoods of so many people here and that makes me want to dig in my heels and get it all back! Since I can't move right now, I guess that's my answer!
We pulled our kids out of Jeffco schools the last week of last year. Considering of moving elsewhere, but i'm having a hard time giving up my lifestyle here in the mountains.

There should be a homeschool tax deduction or something, you’re paying for the schools and not even using them

Awesome job! Most people do not realize how much power we actually have. I love that you took action, keeping your kids as top priority.

I agree, our taxes are completely out of hand! Criminal in my opinion.
Being taxed on labor is clown world. Should be taxed on purchases only. And homestead residence should be tax free
