Sure...make weed legal...no worries no problem...let them....then teach everyone to grow their own and deprive the state of the taxes that motivated them to make the decision in the first place.

Oh, but they'll make THAT illegal.
Looking to Colorado as an example, I would counter that many are either too lazy or simply aren't interested in growing. Further it takes time and attention, not to mention some investment, to grow anything that is worth consuming.
That said it's an amazing plant! I grow it, and enjoy what I grow and it does save me a ton of money, but its very convenient to just go to the store and buy a couple grams of something that will blow your hair back.
Weed is a 3 day drive. It's a big ass country, anyway we can get some down south?
Seriously though, you have people on both sides that think the war on drugs is a failure. People are going to jail for something that is less of an issue than alcohol. NORML email newsletters post candidates that support legalization before an election. MANY people don't care about the politics and vote off of things like that. Its a long list of democrats in every state which accounts for a large chunk of voters.
Personally, I'm shocked Trump didn't push for decriminalization, if anything to take that play out of the hands of the Dems.
I would like it passed. BUT because of the pot growers use of a horrible array of very nasty chemicals, some illegally, and various crap to grow their super-plants with the increase in potency and lower cbd ratio, (this is stupid) there does need to concurrently be strong rules about not messing up the environment where the growers are! The chems are getting in the groundwater, and flowing in creeks... it's evil to harm this way. Once again in this world, profit overrides morality. There, I have spoken. I want to be able to get cbd and pot edibles in the state of Arizona, BECAUSE IT HELPS. And so does hemp oil. our old dogs think so too. My friend sells individual tall indoor greenhouse containment for growing one plant, and others for more plants. People would obviously love to be babying along their own pot plant.
