May go back even farther than that. A few months ago I read an old newspaper clipping (1930s) wherein a doctor said that prior to the Spanish flu vaccinations cancer was extremely rare and hardly ever seen. After the vaccinations the number of cancer patients increased dramatically.

Correct. The polio vaccine was contaminated with SV40, a monkey virus that caused cancer in lab animals. It was injected into millions of people. The next decade, soft tissue cancer rates exploded.
