Although her family are all conservatives, she ended up being the loud mouth liberal in the bunch.
She is my youngest brother's wife. And generally gets along with everyone but she came over today for lunch and we got into it. Here's how it went.
Her: Have you seen the latest numbers?
Me: yea. What about them?
Her: Maybe you should think about getting the vaccine and talking the rest of the family into it instead of being an anti vaxxer.
Me: I don't make their decisions. But since you want to talk about numbers, let's talk.
(At this point I asked her very simple questions to end this quickly)
Me: how many people in ICU are terminal patients dying from chronic illness who also happen to have covid?
Her: uhh I don't know.
Me: If someone dies or is hospitalized/ICU within 14 days of getting the second dose labeled as a covid?
Her: I don't know.
Me: why are there more deaths this year than last year if the Delta variant has a higher rate of transmission but less deadly?
Her: what do you mean?
Me: Why are states and nation's with early mass vaccination numbers seeing a higher total and rate in vaccinated for hospitalized and dead than unvaxxed?
Her: More people are vaccinated
Me: I specifically said rate. Explain.
Her: unvaccinated are spreading and causing mutation
Me: so 100% of the planet needs to get vaccinated?
Her: I don't know. Maybe.
Me: what other "vaccine" required 100% of the planet to get it?
Her: uhhh I don't know
Me: None. What happens to a population after being locked down for nearly 2 years without socializing, minimal exercise and binging on junk food and alcohol? What happens when they open up again? What happens to a person's immune system when depressed?
Her: uhh what does that have to do with anything?
Me: you're not welcome around my children or in my home until you smarten up. I've already texted my brother. Time to leave
I've had it with these people. I genuinely can't take their stupidity anymore.
You're a sweet kid
