Since the PrEP pills (Truvada, Discovey, etc) advertised on tv claim to prevent the HIV virus, but they do not call it a vaccine..... rather a once a day pill.
Looking to research breakthrough case numbers of people who have contracted HIV while taking PrEP that might indicate it's effectiveness.
Basically it is big pharma doing what big pharma does. However if there are a lot of breakthrough cases with PrEP, wouldn't that also work to red pill others about the effectiveness of the vax?
PrEP (Truvada, etc.) is "pre-exposure prophylaxis" and not considered a "vaccine." PrEP for COVID would be similar to that twice-daily pill that Pfizer would like to introduce, to be taken along with the jab, which works by inhibiting viral replication. (Zinc + Quercitin or prophylactic Ivermectin does this for COVID too, if Dr. Zelenko and others are correct.) Personally, I wouldn't compare the two, as HIV requires a significant exchange of body fluids to transmit.
Since CDC requires that the state health depts. report the names of people who have positive HIV tests, information about whether these individuals were on PrEP would also be documented. The PrEP programs for HIV also are careful to document any sero-conversions. You'll want to go to an index like PubMed and search---there's a significant literature on this. Here's an example to get you started:
