Louie Armstrong wrote the lyrics to the song "Chim Chimney" from Mary Poppins? I did not know that until a little while ago. And maybe I'm wrong, but when I went to the "secret link" last night, I discovered a new second "secret link" had been added! (don't give up on me yet - I'm going somewhere with this.)
The song playing in the background at the "secret link" was so calming and I wondered where I had heard the tune before. Then, as if the time between my current self and my 3-year-old self just disappeared, the lyrics poof came out of my mouth and I remembered!
(Common use rights averred and implied - credit is given above - these lyrics are not mine and I am not profiting financially whatsoever from posting this "hopium". If the tune indeed belongs to someone else - I will just concede that I knew it not at this posting.)
"Chim, chimney Chim, chimney Chim, chim, cher-ee A sweep is as lucky As lucky can be
Chim, chimney Chim, chimney Chim, chim, cher-oo Good luck will rub off when I shake 'ands with you Or blow me a kiss And that's lucky too
Now as the ladder of life 'As been strung You may think a sweeps On the bottommost rung
Though I spends me time In the ashes and smoke In this 'ole wide world There's no 'appier bloke
Up where the smoke is All billered and curled 'Tween pavement and stars Is the chimney sweep world
When the's 'ardly no day Nor 'ardly no night There's things 'alf in shadow And 'alf way in light On the roof tops of London Coo, what a sight
I choose me bristles with pride Yes, I do A broom for the shaft And a broom for the flume
Though I'm covered with soot From me 'ead to me toes A sweep knows 'e's welcome Wherever 'e goes
Chim, chimney Chim, chimney Chim, chim, cher-ee When you're with a sweep You're in glad company"
Nowhere is there A more 'appier crew Than them wot sings "Chim, chim, cher-ee Chim, cher-oo"
On the chim chimney Chim, chim, cher-ee Chim, cher-oo
The "secret links" are on the Ingersoll Lockwood Main Page. You must hover over into the white space area to the right of the words: "Quantum Encryption" and look for your cursor arrow to turn into a hand. The second link is where you will hear the instrumental song to the above lyrics.
The first "secret link" has a wonderful song playing, too! "... in the hour of change lay your burdens down..."
If I am not correct on something posted here this morning, it is hoped that maybe you will be kind, but still, please correct me. God bless us, everyone.
One last thing -- As the webpage says - the reason the links are hidden and because we have to rely on word of mouth to find them is to see just how well we are spreading the news - So, don't get mad at me anymore than you got mad at the Easter Bunny for making you look for your loot when you were six. Okay? Love to all.
