Don't install it from Google Play store. I sideloaded it by downloading the .apk from Telegram and installing it using Android Package Installer.

Hmm very interesting, I went over to get the URL for the Telegram Android package and I'm getting a 502: Bad Gateway error... Same for telegram.org.
