When I use Telegram it automatically downloads pictures to my phone. Anyone else have this issue?

The real kicker, is, the only way to get rid if them is "clearing the cache" through the app settings. It was taking up 17gb of permanent space on my internal storage, that did not clear when I cleared the system cache.

It's weird cuz I can't even find where the pics are, but if I go to export, I can see them
