Go into settings & Data & Storage to adjust storage usage. I’ve lowered the Cache size and clean out the cache every so often. It eats storage if you don’t. I have Save Incoming Photos all turned off.
Yes, it ate up about 30gb of space doing this on my Moto G7. I had to hook the phone up to my laptop and find the well hidden files and delete them from there. Then I deleted the app, redownloaded it, and denied the storage permission request.
It really blows when you have like 2 gigs left of internal space on your old shit phone, and the stupid app doesn't let you allocate that cache folder to external storage. You have to clear it out daily if you browse it because the minimum time it'll keep everything is three days and it fills up daily. Never using it on my phone again.
The real kicker, is, the only way to get rid if them is "clearing the cache" through the app settings. It was taking up 17gb of permanent space on my internal storage, that did not clear when I cleared the system cache.
I have not had that issue but I have had issues with being subscribed to channels that I didn’t choose. I have 4 channels that I didn’t subscribe at this time and I contacted the telegram team about problem 2 days ago and got no response at all. I really like telegram but if this shit isn’t fixed I’m going to delete the app.

It's saving to my phone without permission

It's weird cuz I can't even find where the pics are, but if I go to export, I can see them

It's just random pictures. It's like every time I open telegram, which isn't often, it downloads pics to my phone
