Except that there was nothing wrong with DDT. It was banned for political reasons, not for cause of safety. The eggshell studies were with birds who were provided a diet lacking in calcium and phosphorus, necessary for the formation of shells (my recollection of reading long ago). By banning it, millions of people were doomed to die of malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases (most of them black). No skin off someone's back...
