I believe Silverstein bought the towers and Trump didn’t because Trump knew the towers had asbestos and needed re-done. Lucky Larry Silverstein was willing to destroy them. Trump clearly knew a lot about these buildings. I would like to hear from him if he thought about owning them when they were for sale in 2000.
