No that’s just false, muscle memory comes from doing and training is just that. Getting into a fight if you never have will help expose you to the experience so it is easier to control the emotion and your head game but just because you fought a lot dont mean you reinforced proper technique and strategy if anything it is the opposite. A lot of people there were not committing to their punches or using their body effectively. Saw a lot of swinging of just the the arms and lowered hands.
Respect them, but take one day to learn the basics at the very least. It's really simple but even something like a guarding stance, keeping chin down, and thrusting your hip into a cross or hook is super quick and easy to learn and will save your ass from getting really hurt in a fight.
Be able to defend your wife, child, friends, and yourself. They and you deserve a fighting chance.
