Let me mold that sentence a bit so that you might see the flaw in this question. “If we run out of capacity for patients, we may not be able to treat any more patients that might arrive.” The statement that you are running out of patients and thus might not be able to treat unvaxxed patients does not actually imply that your current patient pool is majority or any level of vaxxed. It just says you are running low on capacity and are trying to push unvaxxed as the primary patient base that will cause capacity problems later. Now those claims are bullshit, but the sentence does not imply what you think it does.
So what are the hospitals overwhelmed? If the vax works, then who’s overwhelming the hospitals? If it doesn’t work great, then what’s the benefit?
I’m not arguing about if the vaccine works or not. In fact, I’m quite sure that is doesn’t. Kindly read the original comment; my point was that saying the unvaccinated won’t be able to be cared for if the hospitals are overwhelmed does not imply that the people in the hospitals currently are vaccinated.
The CONTEXT of the referenced statement is the underlying ASSERTION (over the past several months) that it is the unvaccinated that are responsible for overwhelming the hospitals, at present. "...pandemic of the unvaccinated..."; ring any bells?
If this were actually true, then what is the logic behind proclaiming that the unvaccinated will go untreated should the hospitals become overwhelmed? Isn't this a tacit admission that hospitals are not presently overwhelmed with the unvaccinated?
If hospitals are in fact overwhelmed, at present, who is it that's overwhelming them?
Inquiring minds want to know (I think we already do).
