I love Elon Musk but he talks about AI like someone who knows nothing about AI. Which surprises me given his credentials. What's worse, because almost no one in the general public understands AI, if you, as an AI developer, try to express this opinion, you are met with mass appeal-to-authority fallacy. The most advanced AI in the world is no where near even a fraction of what Elon eludes to. His argument is akin to 'We shouldn't domesticate and train dogs because dogs could take over'. Dogs are not capable of sentience, but they are vastly more capable of potential sentience than any AI ever created.
