Another anon already pointed out that it looks like a band-aid, with the rounded end pointing towards his eye. The squared part of the bandaid sticks out a little then goes into the ear. Apparently wearing masks can irritate the skin. It's obviously not a mask. It's obviously a space alien that is wearing a Biden suit, but it's a poor fit around the ears and clearly needs some inter-dimensional tailoring. J/K.
