I think they would recognize it very well. The DoI and Constitution didn't come out as they did by chance. The Founders knew exactly what would happen in government. It is exactly because what we have now is so directly opposed to the Constitution and the Individual Sovereignty declared in the DoI that those documents were created. They were created to remind us of the truths stated in them. They were designed to show us the path out when our government was inevitably infiltrated by the Bankers, just like every government in all of history was.

The Byzantines lasted the longest against the Bankers according to my research (if you know of another one that resisted the bankers/moneychangers for a long time, please let me know). But the Byzantines did not have the same respect for people (sovereign citizenship). Not that they were bad, they were great, but they weren't US(A).
