My apologies. Weather balloons were invented in 1892. I was thinking of weather radar, which was first used in America in 1961. Created in 1953.

But it still stands, this is new technology in the grand scheme of things, yet politicians want to flip our world upside down over 100 years of data. Ridiculous.
