I dont know about ally actually but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I also wouldnt call Putin an enemy of the USA. More like a competitor and there is is nothing wrong with that as long as everyone is playing by the rules. Make Russia great for Russians and America great for Americans and the rest of the world falls in line or is left behind.
