I more than likely have never seen a clip of Newsome speaking before so I can’t compare it to the past. But . . . My immediate impression was that he reminds me of The Truman Show where Marlon is lying to Truman and is repeating what Christof is saying to him through his earpiece. The halting speech, the nervous emotion instantly brought that scene to my mind. Newsome kept closing his eyes as he spoke. I’m pretty sure that is a dead giveaway for lying. We need a body language expert to interpret it for us.
