Here again I am tempted to cry woe upon these foolish doctors whose consciences are seared with a hot iron, who do not care in the least for their patients, and will be called to a terrible account for their criminal folly on the day of judgment. Then they will behold Him whom they have pierced by neglecting their neighbour's welfare, while pocketing his money, and will see at last that they ought to have laboured night and day, in order to acquire greater skill in the healing of disease. Instead of this they complacently go on trusting to chance, prescribing the first medicine they happen to find in their books, and leaving the patient and the disease to fight it out as best they can. They do not even trouble to enquire in what way the medicines they prescribe are prepared. Their laboratory, their furnace, their drugs are at the Apothecary's, to whom they rarely or never go. They inscribe upon a sheet of paper, under the magic word "Recipe," the names of certain medicines, whereupon the Apothecary's assistant takes his mortar and pounds out of the wretched patient whatever health may still be left in him.
Change these evil times, oh. God! Cut down these trees, lest they grow up to the sky! Overthrow these overweening giants, lest they pile mountain upon mountain and attempt to storm heaven! Protect the conscientious few who quietly strive to discover the mysteries of Thy creation!
Nope. I'm just as corrupt as you are. I'm no more intelligent than the next man. Intelligence means nothing if you don't act.
I'm just taking more of my time trying to learn just how corrupt I am so that I may correct those faults rather than lambasting others for efforts they've taken to share what they've learned.
It isn't that you (or anyone else for that matter) don't have the capacity to understand what I tell you; intelligence is not a prerequisite for learning the Truth.
It's that you don't want to.
I know this, because it is clear to me now that I didn't want to either. You are my equal in every way but time.
To show my good faith, I will send you a PM of the document I've very recently read that really shook me and confirmed all I had suspected. But, like I've said, only LIVED experiences can reveal the Truth to you. If you walk away after reading it in full and say "so what?" then the damage is done and the Truth may be lost to you.
There are metaphors and analogies in all these manuals that are far more worthy of praise than the chemical recipes. They can only be revealed through God and the miracles that happen each and every day in our own lives. We ignore so many of these miracles on a daily basis, and only until you apply them to the writings of the alchemists will you realize they all compound on one another.
Think of every memory you have; even the random ones you still have no clue as to why you remember the event or fun-fact. They are a roadmap to the Truth, emblazoned on your mind, scorched there by God as he had done with the Tablets on Mount Sinai. You have ALL the necessary tools to find the Truth, and what's more, you already have it, you just don't know it yet.
Once you recognize it for what it is; once you dispel it's benign and lackluster appearance, you can finally cherish it for what it is.
P.S. And no, it isn't "The real treasure was the friends we made along the way" or any other silly platitude, as true they may be in a vacuum. It's real, "physical", and in every breath you take. Nothing else in this world is taken for granted more than the Truth.
Love you, fren!
I believe I am patient and methodical enough to not dismiss offhand whatever it is you've read, and would like a PM as well, if you'd be so kind?
Symbolism and metaphor is somewhat of a lost art in our time. Much has been revealed to me since I've begun learning how to decrypt the incredibly dense information handed down to us from the past.
You speak the truth. People should really read and try to understand what you’re saying.
