I dated a girl from Canada a few years back and her family were farmers who grew mostly wheat, barley and some canola. I learned then that if a crop (mostly wheat) is not ready for harvest at the time it should be, they "desiccate" it with basically Roundup to help dry it out for harvest and it's a practice that's been around for year's.

Yes this does happen and is a disgusting practice as we end up ingesting all that glyphosate.
