"I want to use this moment to encourage all of our students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated if you have not done so already."

The problem is that a "symptom" is often subjective and not objective.
If you have a fever of 101.4 degrees, that is objective. But if you have a "headache," that is more subjective. What is a headache to you is not so much to me, nevermind "mild," "severe," etc. On top of that, there is no way to know what caused that headache. Maybe you were on the computer late at night and got eye strain, resulting in a headache. All subjective and not possible to prove.
