No one is claiming that is is a bad thing to repost useful old stuff for the edification of those who have not yet seen it. Since the whole argument is about calling it new, and posting it under that pretense, you are being disingenuous by bringing up a strawman of what op is being admonished for.

Old news presented again for the edification of those who missed it previously is A-OKAY (to me).

Claiming the old news is new/breaking is not.
