I just found that Castro's mother's grandfather was Francisco Ruiz Acosta (b.c. 1840 in Spain). I wonder if there's any relation to Jim Acosta on CNN?

Castro's parents weren't married. His father's parents were peasants in Spain. I haven't found anything on his mother, Lina Ruz Gonzalez. I did find that Castro attended a Jesuit-run college in Havana in 1945.
