#1 you have to request a mail in ballot and you have to send it in with a photocopy of your ID cross-referenced with the voter roll for your area.
#2 to vote in person you need to show your voter card plus your ID and you are handed a paper ballot manually counted.
We are a lot of things in Canada but our voting system is way stricter than the US
