I've seen divided responses to this. I think it shows he's in a tough place like a LOT of police. They don't like it. That's a great place to start. Instead of abusing him, you use that as leverage because he has a conscience.
There are plenty of Vicpols who would happily have hit the video dude over the head and kicked him in his guts rather than even attempting to engage him civilly.
If you only ever abuse the good cops, the bad ones are all that will remain.
Once the good ones start to shift, in solidarity with each other, they'll step over the line.
A bit of human understanding doesn't hurt. Everyone is under attack.
In Sacramento they got the cops to back down, telling them that they by bashing the citizens they were bashing someone grandma, might even be yours next time. I its your job your worried about the Sheriff Dept. is hiring. At that line they started turning around and walking away. The Sheriff is the Constitutional Law enforcement.
One, we essentially have no elected constitutional police. State police and fed police are pretty much all corporate.
Two, Australian police are highly polarized. There is really bad corruption, reaching to the top, while there are also some very good cops who got in for the right reasons. They are currently throwing all the thug cops at the protestors, by and large.
Actually its close to the same here, we do have the Constitutional Sheriffs, but they have lost power in many places, replaced by unelected state police.
