This makes no sense. So the solar storm would knock out all the internet, even side not facing the sun at the time the storm hit? Then it would take out only the internet (which is in cables that cross the ocean), but leave intact the satellites that would have neither the ocean nor the atmosphere to shield them. Riiiiiight.

This is a DS comm. It's a threat to the white hats. If you try to wake up the masses, we'll take down the internet before we allow it and leave them only television (which we control) to deliver news. There won't BE anymore internet if you try to make them aware of the monstrous things we've done.
