Just so you know “the day and hour where no man knoweth” is a specific Hebrew saying according to the tradition of calendaring around the moon. This was a specific time during the new moon when watchers were looking out for the new month to declare its beginning. At that time, no one knows the time.
This fits into the “he will come as a thief of the night” saying. This is directly attributed to the same tradition, and the thief of the night is the one who would take rounds making sure the watchers were not asleep, and would burn their garments if they fell asleep to bring shame to them as others would see their burnt garments.
Don’t be asleep when he comes is the point to this.
