I'm not a rich man by any means and I don't have alot to gamble with in a volatile market, but personally I have a very hard time convincing myself to make any sort of investments in the equity market. I'm 100% invested in physical assets. These days the less money I have in the bank makes me feel better too. I can't help but think one of these days we'll all wake up and every penny of fake money held by "banks" will have evaporated overnight.
yes when I "short" I exclusively use options namely puts. direct shorting exposes oneself to theoretical 'infinite' losses. buying a put is more like buying insurance i pay a premium which is a small amount that I lose if nothing happens, but if the underlying tanks hard, my "insurance" pays off.
Yep. Only enough cash in the bank to survive. Not sure if anyone else has considered but the next time I have a couple million left over I'll be buying medical equipment like a CT Scanner etc and then educating myself in how to operate it. Private medicine will be the future. Lots can be addressed with natural cures but being able to diagnose with some of our more advanced tech will always be helpful.
